The Nizami Ganjavi Museum is located in the city of Ganja along the Baku–Yevlakh highway, within the territory of the Nizami Mausoleum complex. Construction began in late 2012, and the museum was officially opened in 2014.
The museum’s exhibition is dedicated to the life and works of the great poet Nizami Ganjavi. The displays include materials reflecting his literary heritage, informational monitors, and an electronic information kiosk. Publications issued on the occasion of the poet’s 800th and 840th anniversaries are also presented.
A special section features original and copied rare manuscripts of the “Khamsa” and miniatures preserved in national libraries of Austria, Russia, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as in the Library of Alexandria in Egypt, the Strasbourg Library in France, and the Metropolitan Museum in the United States.
The museum includes a conference hall for scientific events and designated visitor rest areas. A bust of Nizami Ganjavi stands in front of the building. The interior also displays carpet portraits of Nizami Ganjavi and Mahsati Ganjavi.
