At first glance, the play resembles a domestic drama, yet it features a highly engaging plot and a clear idea that reveals the playwright’s intentions. A khan incapable of governing the province and his vizier are preoccupied with trivial household matters. The khan’s nephew, Teymur Agha, is in love with Nisa Khanum, the sister of the vizier’s second wife, Shola Khanum. However, the vizier’s first wife, Ziba Khanum, sees Teymur Agha in her home and accuses her sister-in-law of immorality, triggering a family conflict. After the khan drowns in the sea, the lovers are reunited, and the province finds peace and stability under the leadership of Teymur Agha.
